Welcome to 22LV.com

www.22LV.com is the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) information clearinghouse for the ongoing initiatives to improve US Route 22 in the Lehigh Valley.

22 Lehigh Valley represents a partnership for progress, a cooperative effort between the numerous federal, state and local regulatory and planning agencies and the communities of Lehigh and Northampton counties to work toward common goals for the Lehigh Valley's primary transportation artery. Those goals: Reducing congestion and improving safety on Route 22.

PennDOT, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission have assumed leadership roles in solving the many challenges that will be met along the way. But the objectives of 22 Lehigh Valley cannot be reached without the assistance and input of various interest groups, individual motorists and members of the community who have a stake in quality of life issues for the near and long term.

It will take time, money and attention to many details to reach these shared goals. The long journey to a better Route 22 tomorrow begins with the steps we take today.

July 2009 - Under the Section 400 project, PennDOT will improve the US Route 22 interchanges at Fullerton Avenue and MacArthur Road and build a new eastbound bridge over the Lehigh River. The project is in the Preliminary Engineering stage.   Larger View
